Hello Girls,

There are some products that shouldn’t be consumed by girls with dehydrated skin – never, ever! The entire list of such products can be found in this entry. If you want to enjoy beautiful complexion and set yourself free from dry epidermis patches, keep reading my entry.

Dry skin – Characteristics

If your skin is dry then I assume your life isn’t simple and the winter isn’t your favourite season, is it? You are disturbed by strong wind blows and sudden temperature fluctuations, you are irritated by new cosmetics and fierce rubbing a towel against your face; you constantly experience the sensation of permanently itchy skin. Air conditioning, most of beauty treatments as well as fine and coarse grained exfoliates don’t suit you well. Your skin can’t handle producing sebum in adequate amounts (this body fluid is responsible for maintaining skin hydration and protection at the right level). But the external factors aren’t the only ones to blame for such a state. Our skin is influenced by what we eat, as well.

YOU MUSTN’T EAT THESE FOOD PRODUCTS

SUGAR

You shouldn’t eat sugar no matter its form. Why? Sugar weakens collagen and elasticin fibres which are responsible for youthful look of the face and skin’s suppleness. When sugar is digested, it destroys proteins. The outcome? Wrinkles, discolorations, dryness and skin weakening. Bear in mind that not only cakes and chocolate bars contain sugar. You can also consume it with fruit, therefore, eat bananas, apples, melons etc. in moderation.

PROCESSED FOOD

This term stands for carbohydrates and simple sugars. All the products which contain these substances don’t deliver any nutrients to the organism. Instead, they cause degradation of skin condition. In fact, they work similarly to the above-mentioned sugar; they weaken collagen fibres and elasticin. Therefore, stay away from white sugar, corn syrup, white flour, fries and chips.

HIGH GI FOOD PRODUCTS

Products containing high glycaemic index can also contribute to dehydrated skin. These products are, among others, white baker’s good and rice, roast potatoes and beer. When we consume such food products, the blood sugar level increases and, as a consequence, collagen fibres become weakened. And this, in turn, influences the hydration level of skin.
