Hey, girls!
The skin is usually sensitive, irritated and prone to damage after exfoliation. That’s why the right care after using a scrub is so important. How to get round to it? Learn my four game-changing rules!
SOOTHING
Use soothing, lightweight products with cooling ingredients. Gently tap a cream, serum or lotion with your fingertips. How will you benefit? Itching, smarting and other bothering feelings will be relieved. The skin will be softer and faster-repairing. A moisturising cosmetic will help you care for the ‘new’ skin, too. Choosing products with natural ingredients matters a lot. Avoid mineral oils, paraffin and artificial substances – they can clog and foul the skin and consequently – the scrub effects.
PROTECTION
Remember to protect the freshly-exfoliated skin. Shield it from the UV radiation and free radicals. Use SPF-enriched creams, topical concealers and antioxidant-rich serums. The skin is twice as much exposed to the sunlight, smog, low temps and harsh wind after the treatment.
NO MAKE-UP
The skin is very sensitive and flaky for a few days after chemical peels. That’s why give up on make-up; cosmetics might worsen the action of active substances and irritate the skin. Using natural and mineral products – free from chemicals – will be the best solution.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS TO GO FOR?
Preferably, a few. One-off exfoliation won’t deliver the effects of a series of treatments done within a month. This is the time enough for full skin repair. A pro aesthetician decides on the number of treatments considering the condition of your skin.
