Skincare trends turn out to be either complete failures or brilliant and useful ideas. Which one is face washing with a toner? I did a test and saw the results on my own skin 🙂
Toner – What is the purpose?
Theoretically, toners aren’t suitable for face washing. Their task is completely different. They should be used after cleaning to nourish and moisturise the skin and most of all – restore its pH. The acid-base balance is crucial and lets skin keep young looks.
CLEANING FACE WITH A TONER
Toners used to be underappreciated products, missing in women’s beauty bags. Now, it’s the other way round, mainly due to Korean skincare guides. More and more women like to use a toner for cleaning the facial skin.
Instead of a washing gel?
Using toner for washing face isn’t about replacing other cleaning methods. First, you wash face with a gel or foam; next, use extra support, namely – a toner.
How to wash face with a toner?
The revolution involves giving up on the standard application of a toner and using a method that is supposed to upgrade the effects. I used to soak a cotton pad with a toner and wipe it over my face. Now I follow new rules and already got used to it. The step-by-step instructions:
- Prepare some warm water in a small bowl or sink.
- Add some toner – more or less one cap.
- Soak face in the mixture for a few seconds.
- Rinse the skin with the same water, gently splashing the face.
The method is simple but is it effective? I saw the effects of cleansing face with a toner after about three weeks but obviously, it might be different for you. I’m sure it will also help you normalize your skin. I’m not going to give up on the technique. Finally, my skin has nice evened tone with a delicate blush, it isn’t shiny or oily yet free from unwanted guests e.g. pimples and blackheads.
