Hello Girls,
Although the summer is, let’s call it, ‘dead and buried’, it’s still fun to have this silky smooth legs. Unfortunately, post-shaving irritations make us rather wear long jeans or thick tights rather than expose the legs to the world. Luckily, I know a few methods to prevent this ingrown hair and skin redness. I wholeheartedly invite you to read my today’s entry.
Take care of your razor
Not without a reason the razor you use to shave your legs with is called disposable. It goes without saying that you should throw it away when you finish using it and take a new one for the next hair removal procedure. Nevertheless, there are many girls that for some reason keep using one razor a few times. If you belong to this group, remember about a few rules concerning using such a razor. Before you shave the legs, spray the blades with a disinfecting lotion and then rinse under running water. Also, you can give a go to razors with replaceable heads. As a consequence, while shaving your legs the next time, you’ll be sure that you use clean and sterile blades.
Remove the hair wet
Dry shaving causes irritations, dehydrates skin and can lead to tiny wounds appearance. For that very reason, remove the hair wet (best after taking a warm bath) because this facilitate better gliding of a razor, skin is more elastic and hair softened. You can also apply shaving foams or body oil with antibacterial preparation additive. I would also recommend to you using tea oil since it relieves irritations and soothes inflammations.
The direction of shaving is vital as well
It’s better to shave the sensitive body parts (for example, under knees, armpits or bikini area) accordingly to the direction that the hair grows. Thanks to this, you will avoid skin cuts and redness. The remaining body parts can be shaved the opposite direction. Moreover, don’t rush while shaving. If you are careful and cautious, there will be less irritations on your skin.
How to take care of the skin after shaving?
The most important here is disinfection of skin and soothing the irritations. You can go for alum crystal which is also a good alternative to a regular deodorants. This potassium aluminium sulphate mineral slows down bleeding and accelerates wound healing processes. Also, you can reach for antiseptic and soothing creams like those containing aloe or panthenol. Moreover, remember about skin moisturising. Use balms, oils or butters featuring natural substances.
I have nothing to wear!
Once you finish shaving, it’s better to put on loose clothing made of natural and airy fabrics. Thanks to such pyjamas, your shaved skin won’t be exposed to additional irritations as you will provide it with the access of fresh air.
